The outgoing captain of Flamborough Golf Club helped raise nearly £4,000 for a charity close to his heart.
Tony Barnes, whose captaincy at the course is now coming to an end, chose to donate £3,946 to Ellie’s Fund – Brain Tumour Trust after his daughter recovered from a brain tumour four years ago.
Tony said: “I contacted just about every sporting organisation there is to get donations and help.
I even got a response from Barcelona Football Club, Leeds Rugby Union Club and many more.
I would like to thank my wife Suzanne, Margaret Simpson, Joan Reynolds and everyone who has donated money and helped at raffles.
It has been an eventful year at the club, and we lost two members to brain tumours.”
