Takeaway delivery driver allegedly assaulted in Bridlington

A takeaway delivery driver was allegedly assaulted by two youths in Bridlington in the early hours of this morning (Friday April 5).

Police have appealed for witnesses to the assault which allegedly happened outside the Bodrum Takeaway, on St John’s Street at around 1.35am.

A group of around five youths were standing outside the takeaway when a delivery driver left the shop.

The group is alleged to have been abusive to the driver and two of the group allegedly assaulted him, causing injuries to his face.

A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with the offence and has been released on bail but police are still keen trace anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
