Burglars used a spade belonging to a Bridlington resident to gain access to their house say Humberside Police, who are now appealing for information about the ‘untidy’ break-in.

The offenders approached the property at East Cottages, Wilsthorpe and used a spade belonging to the victim to force open a secure UPVC ground floor sash window. They then conducted an untidy search of the address between 8.20 am and 6.15 pm on Thursday 16 September.

Nothing was stolen from the property and police believe a motorbike was used as the getaway vehicle due to tracks found at the scene.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the burglary or suspicious people in the area, and anyone with information should call 101 quoting crime reference number 2074680.
