Shop theft witness asked to come forward

A woman who witnessed a thief making off from a Bridlington shop without paying for her goods is asked to contact the police.

The incident happened at the Sense charity shop in The Promenade in the town at 1635hrs on Tuesday 13 January.

The suspect was allegedly seen to place items under her coat before leaving the shop.

Police arrested a 40-year-old Bridlington woman on suspicion of shop theft and she has been released on police bail.

The woman in the shop who witnessed the offence is asked to contact PC Rob Brigham at Bridlington Police Station on the non-emergency number 101 referring to log 397 of 13 January 2015.
