Police officers seize drugs, cash and firearms in Operation Venetic

Humberside Police has played a part in major operation to take drugs and guns of the streets.

It joined forces with National Crime Agency for Operation Venetic.

Humberside Police said: “We are proud to be a part of such a huge operation and to contribute to the very impressive arrest tally of 70 people.

“A number of people were arrested in the Humberside Police force area and a large quantity of Class A and C drugs were seized.”

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Guns, drugs and cash have been taken off of the streets in a massive blow to serious and organised crime in the Yorkshire and the Humber Region.

“The details of the operation can be revealed for the first time after officers working around the clock seized more than 120kg of drugs, nearly £3million in cash and arrested 70 people. Officers also recovered 10 firearms.”
