Police in Bridlington seize £9,000 worth of crack cocaine and heroin in raids

Police have seized £9,000-worth of crack cocaine and heroin in an blitz on drugs in Bridlington.

The operation included raids, stopping drug deals as they happened and several arrests.

Neighbourhood Inspector Rob Cocker said: “Bridlington is a fantastic place to live, work and visit and we are determined not to allow a small minority of people to give this area a bad name.

“Drug-related crime is not something we want in our communities, as we know how much of an impact it can have when it’s happening on your doorstep.

“And that’s why we will continue to work tirelessly to find the people responsible, seize and destroy any drugs we find and show those looking to commit these kinds of offences that Bridlington is not the place to come and do it.”

In one property search, on Marshall Avenue, officers found 255 wraps of what they believe to be heroin and cocaine.

Four people were arrested including Khyle Holdsworth, 22, of no fixed abode, who appeared before Hull Magistrates Court on Friday charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

A 51-year-old woman and two men aged 51 and 36 were also arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and have been released under investigation.

Other arrests during the operation included a 38-year-old arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply after officers observed a suspected drug deal in Albion Terrace. He has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.

A 27-year-old woman was arrested at an address in Landsdowne Road on suspicion of drug dealing. A number of mobile phones and drug-related paraphernalia were seized from the property. She has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, along with a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy who were arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences after being observed acting in a suspicious manner in Carlton Street. All three have been released under investigation.

A 65-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and burglary after officers saw a suspected drug deal in St Andrew Road. He has also been released under investigation.

Another man was given a cannabis warning when he dropped a small bag of the drug after spotting officers in Richmond Road.

Inspector Cocker said: “We’re really pleased at what we have achieved so far but if we’re going to continue to make this kind of impact we need your help and support.
