THROWING a punch at a door supervisor in Bridlington has landed a Hull man with a £65 fine.
Paul Anthony Reynolds, 31, of Thirlmere Avenue, pleaded guilty to punching a member of the door staff at Bridlington’s Casino Bar, on Esplanade, in the early hours of Sunday May 15.
Prosecuting, Jayne Wilson told the court that Reynolds had been out in the town with a group of friends, and was spotted on CCTV involved in a fracas with door staff.
She said: “The defendant can be seen on CCTV throwing a punch into the doorway. Door staff detained him until police arrived and arrested him.”
Mitigating, Vicky Lancaster said that Reynolds was “blind drunk” and could not remember anything about the incident, having to be shown CCTV footage by police.
“The door staff punched him in the face and shoulder, so it was very much a case of an eye for an eye,” said Ms Lancaster.
Reynolds was given a £65 fine, and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £15.
