Man arrested after Bridlington woman falls to death

A MAN has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman who fell from a first storey balcony over a sea front cafe in Bridlington.

The woman, believed to be in her 40s, died from her injuries when she fell approximately 30 feet from a block of three flats above the Marina cafe, behind Bridlington Spa, at around 11.30pm last night.

This morning a forensic tent covered the spot and the area was cordoned off by police.

A 36-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody assisting police with their investigation.

The woman has not yet been formally identified, however her next of kin have been made aware of her death and are being supported by police officers.
