Four people needed hospital treatment after being attacked by a group as they walked near Bridlington harbour on Sunday morning.

Police said the victims, two men, aged 30 and 25, and two women, aged 20 and 29, were walking along Queen Street towards the Stirling Castle pub when a number of people approached them.

Following the incident, the attackers left the area by going behind the Stirling Castle and along the harbour. The victims attended Scarborough Hospital for treatment.

Two men, aged 28 and 25), and a 28-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail until next month.

Officers are still looking for other people who may have been involved in the assault, specifically a man with a bald head and a woman wearing a light coloured top.
