Car and cyclist collide at Brandesburton

Witnesses are being sought to a serious injury road traffic collision that happened at 10am on Sunday 20 July on the A165 at Brandesburton Roundabout at the junction with New Road in East Yorkshire.

A Jaguar XF motor car in red, driven by an 81-year-old East Yorkshire man, was involved in a collision with a 79-year-old Leven man who was riding a brown racing bicycle.

The cyclist sustained serious injuries to the head as well as lacerations and abrasions to the head and body and was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary where he was detained.

The motorist was uninjured, although he did suffer from shock.

Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the car or cyclist prior to the incident, is asked to contact Humberside Police on 101 referring to log number 299 of 20 July 2014.
