Bus driver allegedly assaulted in Bridlington

A BUS driver in Bridlington has allegedly been assaulted at the town’s bus station.

A police investigation is underway after the bus driver was allegedly assaulted by a man who climbed aboard the number 504 bus at around 4.15pm on Monday (September 17).

A man, who was holding a bottle of opened cider, grabbed the driver’s face and pushed his head backwards.

The bus driver suffered pain and bruising but did not require any hospital treatment.

The suspect was with a group of men who were all boarding the bus at the bus station.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward, particularly two women who were talking to the bus driver just before the assault and are believed to have witnessed the incident.
