The crew of a stricken vessel which later sank in the North Sea were rescued by brave fishermen who spotted the boat in trouble.

At around 7am on Monday 12 August the Humber coastguard received a call for help from the three-strong crew of the Magdalene Ann, however the boat sank before it could be reached by lifeboats from Bridlington and Humberside, or the RAF rescue helicopter.

Luckily The Kimberley, a Bridlington fishing boat on its way to lobster pots near Withernsea that morning, was passing and pulled the onboard crew onto their boat.
