In just over a week’s time, the mayor of Bridlington will be taking to the skies for the major fund-raiser of his year in office.
Cllr Cyril Marsburg is completing a skydive in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society, which is his chosen charity for his second stint as mayor.
The 80-year-old will be joined by Bridlington Town Council’s civic officer Abbi Grosse, who is also completing a parachute jump at the Skydive GB at Grindale.
Weather permitting, the daredevil duo will be jumping from several thousand feet on Saturday, May 4.
Cllr Marsburg has completed two parachute jumps in the past but it will be Abbi’s first time.
They are hoping to raise £1,000 and have set up an online funding page at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/mayorofbridlington or you can make a donation by calling at the town council’s offices in Quay Road.
