A day centre for adults with learning difficulties held its annual Christmas coffee morning which went on to help raise than £900 for the facility.
Students at Swan House Day Centre took part in creating arts and crafts for sale on the day and also held a raffle and tombola.
John Ropero, who runs the day centre, said: “I’m really proud - we thought we would maybe raise about £200, but when we added up money from all the crafts sold on the day it was more than £900!
“The coffee morning was due to open at around 12pm but we had people asking if they could come in at 9am - we were already prepared so we let them in.
“The students made so many craft items and they were really good, they looked like they had been made in a shop and people were buying them for Christmas presents.”
All the money raised on the day will go back in to the education facilities of Swan House Day Centre, and will also go towards organising trips for students in the new year.
