A company has scooped a national award for its window replacement project in Bridlington.

George Hurst and Sons has won a Gold Award at the prestigious Considerate Constructors Scheme’s 2016 National Site Awards for its window refurbishment project.

The award, presented at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester, was given within the category of sites with a project value of between £500k to £5m.

The annual awards recognise the highest levels of consideration and care shown by sites registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme towards their local neighbourhoods, the general public, their workforce and the environment.

They are judged by Scheme Monitors visiting the site and rating their considerate performance against the Code of Considerate Practice.

The Window Replacement project involved the replacement of windows to 520 houses at various addresses in Bridlington during winter.

The site team was commended for its outstanding community engagement during this very sensitive work, as well as workforce safety and welfare.

Scheme Chairman Mike Petter said: “Congratulations to George Hurst and Sons Ltd on achieving a Gold Award. This is an exceptional achievement and highlights how Considerate Constructors Scheme-registered sites are continually raising standards way above and beyond statutory requirements.”
