A fund raiser has enjoyed success with her first charity event in aid of the Stephen Gately Trust.
Rachel Hemmingway, 34, of Rickaby Close in Bridlington hosted a stall and tombola in the Promenades Shopping Centre, and raised around £344.01 for the trust, which funds research into Arrhythmic Death Syndrome.
She said: “It was absolutely brilliant, and I was really shocked at how busy it was. We were down to the last four tombola tickets!”
Rachel thanked Beth Darley who did face painting on the day, and said she was already planning future events to generate funds for the charity.
In October she will take the plunge with a sponsored zip wire ride from the roof of the Imperial War Museum in Manchester.
