A LOCAL woman who turned 100 last week celebrated her birthday in style.
Ellen Tingle celebrated her 100th year with a special party with family, some of whom had travelled from Spain to be there for the big occasion, and friends, on June 10.
Mrs Tingle, who has lived in Bridlington for forty-five years, has one son, Brian, and two grand-children, one of whom will be married this September in the USA.
Mrs Tingle also enjoyed parties for her centenary at the Edna Weekes Day Centre, and with friends from the Priory Lunch Club. She was one of the founding helpers when the Lunch Club was formed just over 25 years ago, and received a bouquet of flowers from the club along with a birthday cake made and decorated by Mrs Avril Wood.
Mrs Tingle worked in a ladies dress shop and still enjoys sewing.
