Ghostbusters, Madonna and Penelope Pitstop were just some of the fancy dress ideas at Bridlington Spa’s 80s themed New Year’s Eve party.
More than 700 people turned out to the event, in its second year, for an 80s Mania performance with tributes to those who lit up the decade such as Adam Ant, Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet.
A live stream of the countdown was displayed to the crowd from London and celebrations of 2015 went on until 1am.
An 80s themed DJ was in charge of getting the guests into the party atmsophere and he didn’t fail with the dancefloor being busy all night.
There was fun for all the family with a soft play area and a disco for the children to enjoy.
Sales and programming manager at Bridlington Spa, Jo Clarke, said: “The evening was very well received with people putting a lot of effort into their costumes. It was an excellent night of entertainment with everybody enjoying themselves. The feedback has been great to this event which is no doubt different to anything else on offer in Bridlington. I’d like to thank the people of Bridlington for supporting the event and allowing us to continue to host the event.”
Plans have already taken place for this year’s event with a Magic of Motown themed party set to take place. Tickets will go on sale by the end of January.
