A Bridlington hotel which was a popular choice for wedding receptions has announced it has 'closed for business'.

A post on Sewerby Grange's Facebook page last night said: "Sewerby Grange has now closed for business, we are sorry for any inconvenience caused'.

The hotel is described as 'a fine grade 2-listed building, built at the expense of the reverend Yarborough Gamaliel Lloyd-Greame in 1865 and was the vicarage for St John the Evangelist Church'.

The hotel's website is not accessible this morning and nobody answered the phone when the Free Press called for more information this morning.
