The Inspire salon at East Riding College in Bridlington will be running a full-time nail technology course from September.

The Level 2 programme will give students a range of technical skills and knowledge, looking at nail art, manicure and pedicure.

They will also be able to cover subjects such as facial skincare, eyelash perming and skin tanning techniques which should open doors to jobs in the beauty industry at the end of the year.

Student Lacey Burrows from Hornsea completed the course as part of her wider beauty therapy programme.

She said: “I’d recommend it because it’s a great specialism to have, it’s an easy money-maker and having the qualification will pay for itself in no time.

“If we’d had the option to do it in a year when I started, I’d have jumped at it. Nails is what everyone wants and there’s loads of work out there.

“The great thing about the new course is that you could be qualified in less than a year and be out there working in a salon.”
