Bridlington will find out this evening if it has been crowned the UK’s fishing port of the year.
The Fishing News Awards are being handed out at a ceremony in Aberdeen and Bridlington has made the final five for the prize.
It is on the shortlist against Brixham in Devon and three Scottish contenders, Cullivoe, Fraserburgh and Peterhead.
Bridlington is the UK’s leading shellfish port and a dredger was brought to the harbour last year as part of ongoing investment.
There could be double success for the town, as Jack Sanderson has been shortlisted for the Young Fisherman of the Year title.
He lost his leg after beging diagnosed with bone cancer as a child but works on Perseverance II.
