THE town’s Park and Ride Service has enjoyed a successful start to the new summer season, with thousands of visitors using the service over the two bank holiday weekends.
Ian Rayner, tourism unit manager at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “The glorious weather conditions, mixed with the Spa Gardens and the completion of other Bridlington Regeneration projects saw many visitors head for the East Riding Coast.
“Almost 3,000 cars carrying around 12,000 visitors used the facility over the Easter weekend and over the Royal wedding and May Day there were 1,415 cars carrying around 5,660 visitors.
“The majority of visitors took advantage of the complimentary bus and land train service and were also delighted with the rebuilt toilet facilities.”
Visitors are reminded to access the park and ride via the designated sign-posted route from the A165.
The Belvedere Road access must not be used.
