BUSINESSES are being reminded of the do’s and don’ts of getting rid of commercial waste.
To help them make sure they comply with legal requirements, East Riding of Yorkshire Council is offering advice to help them avoid fines of up to £50,000.
A council spokesperson said: “They must have a trade waste collection agreement in place with either the council or a private contractor, also Waste Transfer Notes must be produced when waste is transferred from one company to another.”
A booklet is available on the business waste section of www.target45plus.org.uk or contact the team on 01482 395580 or email email@example.com.
Businesses are also reminded that they are not allowed to dispose of waste at the council’s household waste recycling sites.
