Wold Top Brewery have been celebrating the booming real ale industry by showcasing alongside Welcome to Yorkshire at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
It is Welcome to Yorkshire’s sixth year with a garden at the famous national flower show, and this time the entry celebrates the county’s wealth of microbreweries and famous beer industry.
The garden – designed by Bestall&Co, who are based near Sheffield, and in partnership with Wold Top Brewery featured an old Yorkshire brewing shed complete with Yorkshire thatch roof, besides elements of a modern micro-brewery.
Gill Mellor, director of Wold Top Brewery, said: “Partnering with Welcome to Yorkshire on the Brewers Yard garden at the Chelsea Flower Show is a real dream come true for me. It’s great to be representing the county’s breweries and microbreweries on a national stage.”
Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “Brewers Yard will celebrate another side of Yorkshire; its outstanding brewing scene with a vast wealth of incredible microbreweries right across the county. It’s an industry that has really taken off in Yorkshire, and where better than one of the county’s many pubs to sample a pint or two of that outstanding product?”
Tom and Gill Mellor have been brewing award-winning beers at Wold Top Brewery on their Yorkshire farm since 2003. To find out more, visit www.woldtopbrewery.co.uk
