Premier Inn has purchased the Beaconsfield Car Park, it has been announced.
Cllr Stephen Parnaby OBE, leader of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said the hotel chain reached a deal with the authority to purchase the site last week.
Speaking to members of the full council, he said: “I am pleased to confirm that on 30 September 2015 Premier Inn Hotels Limited and the Council exchanged a contract for the sale of the Beaconsfield Car Park, for the development of an 80 bedroom hotel and family restaurant.
“Premier will now be seeking planning permission for its proposed development and if approval is obtained, the sale will completed and the development commenced.
“With a scheme value of over £7m and the creation of 45 permanent non-seasonal jobs, this is the type of private sector inward investment and job creation that our overall regeneration strategy for Bridlington seeks to attract as it will increase the visitor appeal of the town and benefit the local economy.”
Premier Inn have not yet submitted a planning application to the council but are expected to do so in the coming months.
