WOLDS Business Week is in full swing as the countdown begins to the Chamber Bridlington and Wolds Business Awards 2011 – held tomorrow night.
Hundreds of people from the local and regional business community will descend on Bridlington Spa for the glittering awards ceremony.
There are seven categories this year, with an overall winner chosen from the winners of the individual categories.
Geof Pickering, of Nexux group in Bridlingotn, is the event’s main organiser. The main sponsor is Barclays Corporate.
The annual awards are this year part of the first Wolds Business Week.
On Monday, the Wolds Business Week was launched in style at a breakfast event at the Spa which focussed on Bridlington town centre partnerships – with local agencies meeting with businesses and discussing future town centre events.
On Tuesday, the Careers and Learning Expo took place at the Spa, which included colleges, universities and further learning representatives and aimed to give advice for self employment, starting up businesses and apprenticeships.
On Wednesday, a great outdoors event took to Sewerby Hall with local tourism businesses encouraged to make links with others to promote the natural beauty of the local area.
Today (Thursday) is the Business Centres Open Day, held at locations around the East Riding area to give people a chance to meet the council’s Business Services staff providing advice and pointers on how to take your business forward.
