Bridlington man awarded an OBE

A Bridlington man has been awarded an Order of the British Empire in the New Year Honours List.

Christopher Train, who grew up in Bridlington, is chair of the Energy Emergencies Executive Committee and was presented with his OBE for services to the gas and electricity industry.

Mr Train’s sister, Lynda who lives in Bridlington, said: “We are very proud, he grew up in Bridlington and my mum and dad are very proud.”

Nationally, 1,195 people have received an award with women representing over half those recognised.
