A BRIDLINGTON hotel has reopened its doors and will offer wedding receptions once again, only months after previous owners closed the venue and plunged marriage plans into chaos.
Ye Olde Star Inn, on Westgate in Old Town, closed its doors in April this year leaving the wedding plans of many in tatters – but now under new ownership and after a £100,000 refurbishment, the business is ready to thrive again.
Michael Dixon, of Doncaster Hotels, the company which has bought out Ye Olde Star Inn, confirmed the business has recruited 10 new local staff.
“We have spent around £100,000 on the building. We have put new floors in and everything is refurbished and we are very happy with it,” said Mr Dixon.
“It opened again last week and we are taking wedding bookings again.
“We have employed 10 new staff, who live locally, and we are using local businesses for our produce for the meals we are offering.”
The business re-opened last Tuesday and will this weekend offer a murder mystery evening, on Saturday at 7.30pm.
Tickets for the event are £20 per person, and include the show and a three course meal. Book tickets on 608692.
