Bridlington Coastguard Rescue team appealing for new volunteer rescue officers

A vital emergency service is hoping to attract new volunteers in the Bridlington and district area.

The Bridlington Coastguard Rescue team is hoping to attract for new volunteer rescue officers.

The Bridlington Coastguard Rescue team (HM Coastguard) is searching for new volunteer rescue officers to join the service in this area.

If you are interested in volunteering, or would like to know more, the organisation plans to host a couple of online sessions between interested parties and team members so it can answer any questions about the service.

A spokesman said: “Could you see yourself in the team, responding to a variety of search and rescue situations?

“Whether it be rescuing a casualty or dog from a cliff face, to rescuing someone in the water along our rugged coastline, we do it all!

“You may find yourself providing life-saving first aid in a hard to access coastal location one minute, to responding to reports of a missing person the next.

“Very soon, Bridlington Coastguard Rescue team will be looking for new volunteer rescue officers to join our team and we need you!

“If you are interested in volunteering, or would like to know more, we plan to hold a couple of online sessions so we can answer any questions about HM Coastguard.

“These sessions are intended for those of you who have a genuine interest in joining us, so if that is you, then send us a direct message on either Facebook or Instagram with your email and a leave short message as to what interests you have.

“We will then be in touch with the details of the informative sessions which may be just the very start of your exciting journey volunteering with Her Majesty’s Coastguard.”
