A cafe-bar in Bridlington has organised a run into the sea which is to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Richie Preston, 44, who owns the cafe said: “It’s all in relation to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

“I’ve already done that and have bee nominated about five times since, so I thought up the idea and have called it ‘the ultimate ice water challenge.’

“I’m not too worried about doing it, in fact I’m quite looking forward to it.”
A donation of £1 is required to enter the sea run on 6 September at 8.00 am, which Richie’s Cafe-Bar will match.

Participants should meet in front of the cafe at 7.45am to brace themselves.

Mayor of Bridlington Shelagh Finlay will be present to see runners off.
