Brid may not benefit in post-Brexit

There are concerns that Bridlington may not benefit financially post-Brexit.
There are concerns that Bridlington may not benefit financially post-Brexit.

After reading Cllr Robson’s thought-provoking letter in last week’s Free Press I was left wondering how many of Bridlington’s residents actually care where the money spent on Bridlington’s regeneration scheme comes from, as long as it keeps coming, and we get to enjoy the results.

For me, the main concern is that once we have left the EU and taken back control, to whom are we then going to hand over our nation’s reins?

Will it be to a coterie of egocentric barons who will gleefully further enrich themselves, or to a disharmonious alliance of insular Little Englanders, regressive thinkers, bean counters, bar-room bores and bigots, who would merrily dance us up a blind alley in pursuit of their implacable dogma?

Either way I doubt that Bridlington will reap the benefits of the supposed billions that will suddenly become available after Brexit.

Let’s hope I’m wrong.
