The Spa Bridlington and Viking FM have today confirmed that this year’s Brid Bash is cancelled.

Difficulties surrounding confirmation of the headline act - originally announced to be JLS, have contributed to the event being called off.

Andrew Aldis, general manager of The Spa Bridlington, said: “This is a decision we haven’t taken lightly but with time against us, no resolution in sight and a line-up minus a suitable headline act we have been left with no alternative.”

Customers who purchased ‘Feelin’ Brave’ tickets have been sent letters explaining their options following the cancellation.

They have been offered either an exchange of their tickets, at no additional cost, tickets to see Joe McElderry’s concert on Saturday, 27 July, saving £3 per adult and £2.50 per child, or a full refund.

Brid Bash was planned to take place on Saturday 3 August. See this week’s Free Press, out Thursday 4 July, for a full report.
