Boy, 12, injured after incident in Bridlington

A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a collision.

The incident happened at 12.40pm on Saturday 28 June, on Woldgate in Bridlington.

The boy was riding a blue Yamaha motorcycle when it was in collision with a silver Nissan Almera.

The child, who was not wearing a helmet, received head injuries as well as multiple fractures to the body.

He was taken by air ambulance to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.

A three-year-old child, travelling as pillion passenger at the time, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The driver of the Nissan, a 31-year-old Bridlington man, sustained minor whiplash injuries.
