Several concerned residents in the Driffield area called the police at about 6.45pm last Monday after they witnessed a white van park up near North End Park in Driffield, with possibly up to 15 people exiting the van allegedly with weapons.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “It appears this may have been an organised dispute.”

Officers quickly rushed to the incident and arrested 11 people for affray, who have since been bailed until October.

Those who were arrested include one 46-year-old man, two 17-year-old boys, one 17-year-old girl, five 16-year-old boys and two 15-year-old girls, all from Bridlington.

One of the 16-year-old boys was also arrested for possession of a controlled drug.

Police seized the white van following the incident.

Residents have since taken to social media to give their accounts of what happened.

Last week, the Times and Post revealed that police were investigating a “large fight” involving around 30 men which is said to have broken out in St John’s Road, Driffield, on the morning of 19 July.

The police spokesperson says there is no connection between the incident last Monday and the one on 19 July.

If anyone witnessed the incident last Monday, call Humberside Police on 101, quoting log number 366 of 27/07/15.
