Ambulance staff in Bridlington could go on strike over changes in shift patterns planned to come into force next month.

Unite, the country’s largest union, is balloting its 450 members at the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust for strike action over the introduction of new elongated shift patterns in February.

The union claims no consultation has been made with Unite over the rotas. The ballot closes on Friday 24 January.

Unite ambulance members previously took strike action on 2 April and 7 June last year over concerns regarding patient safety.
