The events team at Sewerby Hall and Gardens has put together a brilliant set of activities for Hallowe’en taking place over October half-term break.
In the Servant’s Wing and Orangery on the Monday (Oct 26) and Wednesday (Oct 28), children can make their own Witches Brew or Witch Puppets along with other craft activities between noon and 3pm.
There is no need to book and standard house admission charges apply.
On Tuesday, Oct 27, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Sport, Play and Arts team returns between 10am and noon with a Halloween-themed spin on their family archery activity.
Zombie Archery sees visitors try to hit as many zombies as they can and is free.
Also on the Tuesday, there will be XPLORER sessions between 1pm and 2.30pm. This free activity is a fun family orienteering challenge aimed at primary and pre-school children and their parents, grandparents and guardians.
On Thursday, Oct 29, Rusticus Theatre Arts returns with its fabulous Wacky Walks: Trick or Treat!
Taking place at 2pm, 3.30pm and 5pm, each walk costs £5 for one child and one adult. Booking and pre-payment is essential as places are limited to 30 on each walk and always sell out quickly.
Friday, Oct 30, rounds off the week with the popular Pumpkin Carving. Providing all the materials, the sport, play and arts team will be on-site in the Orangery at 1pm.
Places are limited to 20 per session so early booking and pre-payment is essential. The cost is £5 for one child and one accompanying adult.
Throughout the week, there is no charge for admission to the estate but charges to the house and zoo are in place.
Annual Pass holders are not exempt to charges for the indicated activities. Booking and payment can be made in person or by calling the Welcome Centre on (01262) 673769.
