The first day of the school summer holidays saw the thermometer reach 29C, which is 84F.

BBC weather forecaster Paul Hudson said that made it the hottest day in the town since June 19, 2000.

Temperatures in Bridlington were on a par with Rio, Ibiza and the Maldives - and there is no sign of things cooling down soon.
