NEXT week, the Spotlight Theatre in West Street presents the Bridlington Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society’s 2011 Summer Season of shows.
Next Wednesday night, July 27, go along to ‘Old Tyme Music Hall’ and on Thursday July 28, ‘Ready Steady Go’ begins for the summer.
These two shows will run every Wednesday and Thursday until September 28 and 29 respectively.
This will be followed later in the season with a musical concert by the Spotlight Singers, and a ‘Help the Heroes’ series of concerts.
‘Old Tyme Music Hall’ features many of the well known faces at the Spotlight singing all the old favourites from the earlier part of the 20th century, with plenty of opportunities for the audience to join in and sing along.
A newcomer to the Spotlight is the ‘chairman of the show’ Mike Hammond, an outstanding comic.
‘Ready Steady Go’ is based on the popular songs of the 60s, featuring numbers by many popular groups of the decade such as The Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and many many more.
From Tuesday, August 23 to September 27, the ‘Spotlight Singers’ will entertain you with many lovely melodies sung by an excellent choir and talented soloists.
Two concerts in aid of military charities, ‘Help the Heroes’, will run later in the summer, on Friday September 16 and Saturday September 17.
All shows start at 7.30pm.
Tickets for all of the shows cost £7.50 for adults, and £4 for children, and are available from Bridlington Blinds and Curtains, at the top of Bridge Street. For more information contact 601006 during normal shop hours.
Go along this summer, you won’t be disappointed.
