A Bridlington businessman is taking his love of gaming to the next level – by staging an ambitious two-day festival this summer.
Ambush will be held at Driffield Showground on the weekend of June 23 and 24.
It is the idea of Nathan Long, who only started his own shop in Bridlington 12 months ago.
Nathan said: “Ambush is a wargaming event, the first we have ever arranged. It is a two-day event with camping on site because if you are going to do it you may as well go all out.
“Local gaming groups from Middleton on the Wolds, Driffield and Scarborough are all involved. Food is being provided by the Martonian Inn from Bridlington, there are participation games to have a go at, demonstration games to help you to try something new, a local band playing on the night and traders so you can buy awesome new things.
“The event is different to anything in the area, it will not make us a profit but that was never the intention, it really is to bring some awesome gaming to all.”
Nathan decided to turn his love of gaming into his job two years ago.
He started Mighty Lancer Games online, stocking and selling thousands of products.
It grew quickly and within a year he had opened a brick and mortar shop in Springfield Avenue in Bridlington.
Nathan’s wife Emma said: “I thought this would be it, this level of business would surely satisfy his need to bring his passion to others, but I was wrong and that’s how we get to Ambush.
“I hope it may be even inspire others to go headlong for their dream.”
Tickets are on sale now and are £5 per day or £8 for the weekend, with camping available for £5 per night.
Under fives go free and the festival runs from 10am to 4pm both days.
