Local artist Leanne Broadbent is holding a six week creative workshop for 7-11 year olds.
Leanne, who was featured last year on national television in an interview with Paul Heiney on ITV1’s Country Wise, will lead the Junior Art Workshops in Bridlington who want to learn and develop more skills in fine art.
The workshops which start on March 17, will last for an hour and will take place on Saturday mornings progressing over six weeks, learning how to use different materials and discovering new techniques.
Leanne who obtained a BA Honour in Fine Art and gained a PGCE qualification in 2006 stated: “I remember when I was younger how important it was to my artist development to have extra support and advice. Therefore, I came up with the idea of creating these fun bite size classes for children who want to learn more and work on their skills.”
She adds: “The most important thing is that the class sizes are designed to be small to ensure that the children get the attention they require and for the less confident child they will also have a chance to be heard and build upon their skills.”
Over the six weeks Leanne will cover working with acrylic paints and watercolours to teaching processes and little tricks she has learnt along the way using high quality materials.
“I think it is really important for children to learn using high quality materials as there is a difference and it makes it easier to create good effects which will help a child’s confidence grow.”
These classes are not designed to be drop in classes and therefore booking is essential. The classes cost £60 for the six weeks and include the cost of tuition and materials.
