A gym is reaching out for new members to take up a boxing fitness programme which could see them appear on live television.
Professional boxer Harry Matthews, martial arts master Lee Mainprize, and master personal trainer Jason Diprose of ‘1Gym’, carried out health checks and provided advice to shoppers at the Promenades Shopping Centre.
Jason said: “Our advice showed the locals how they could make simple implementations to their every day routine that would have an enormous benefit in the long run.
“As part of our plans for Bridlington this year we will be launching Zero To Hero - a boxing based fitness programme.
“I will take people through a jaw dropping once in a life time transformation journey that culminates in a fight night at the Bridlington Spa in May.”
Jason also spoke of his personal struggle with weight issues, which has given him an insight into the hardships faced by those struggling with their bodies.
He added: “I’ve been there and so have a lot of my colleagues at the gym.
“I actually lost far too much weight far too quickly. I thought I would be healthy if I just got skinny.
“But that wasn’t the case.”
However Jason managed to eventually get on top of his weight issue which progressed him to becoming a personal trainer.
Jason added: “1Gym Bridlington has positively benefited more than 300 members so far - as such we have had a phenomenal impact on the town’s health. We will continue to make Bridlington a healthier place in 2015 and beyond by continuing to support hundreds of individuals on a weekly basis.
“The event at The Spa means people’s achievements will be immortalised.”
