Bridlington Rotary Club has donated £800 to St John’s Burlington Church which will go towards the cost of distributing weekly services, prayer lists and reflections.

During the pandemic, St John’s has continued to keep in touch with the housebound and lonely residents who are part of its church family far and wide.

Although most people can get information via email, Facebook and the church’s website, some of the congregation do not have computers so they have been kept informed via a newsletter through the post.

A spokesman said: “The church, like many others, has suffered the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“However, the church was delighted to receive a very generous donation of £800 from Bridlington Rotary Club towards the cost of distributing prayer lists, the weekly services, and reflections.”

Over the past seven years, the Rotary Club has established strong links with the church – particularly through the Christmas Tree Festivals – which involved around 70 community groups each year, raising in excess of £18,000 for national and local charities.
