Headlands School sets up Care Package scheme to support local families

A collection box has been put in place at the Co-op store on Martongate for members of the public to give items of food and toiletries.

The school will then make up packages for local families. A Just Giving page has also been set up for residents to donate money towards the project and has raised £670 in the first few days.

Headteacher Sarah Bone said: “We know that for many of our families, life is particularly difficult at the minute.

“We also know that the Headlands School community, and the residents of Bridlington, are extremely generous and always rise to the challenge when help is needed.

“Becky Brown, our new lead practitioner for student welfare, is coordinating the Care Package scheme and the response so far has been wonderful.

“I am very pleased that we have already been able to deliver packages to help those who need it most.

“A huge thank you to all the businesses and individuals who have supported Team Headlands so far, and I hope this will grow and grow in the next few weeks.”

Families who want to make a request for a Care Package can contact the school and speak to their child’s Year Leader.
