Pupils at the trust are protecting the planet by planting trees, litter picking, and helping wildlife to thrive.

Children will be wearing themed green costumes – green in every sense – colour, recyclable/ recycled materials.

The school, which is part of the St Margaret Clitherow Catholic Academy Trust, will be attempting a no electric-light day if at all possible, and a range of activities are planned looking at the bio-diversity of the school grounds and how it can be improved.

Margaret Land, sustainability officer for St Margaret Clitherow Catholic Academy Trust, said: “The theme for Earth Day this year is ‘Restore our Earth’, and our schools are continuing their commitment to protect the planet by planting trees, litter picking, and helping wildlife to thrive.”
