East Riding College to host classic car show and autojumble at St Mary’s Walk campus

East Riding College in Bridlington is to host its first autojumble and classic car show on Sunday, June 27, bringing visitors to the town at the beginning of the next ‘unlocking’ phase.

The college’s motor vehicle department have organised for a classic car show to take place at its St Mary’s Walk campus.

The event will help raise awareness of the expansive motor vehicle and engineering curriculum offering and give visitors a chance to see the college’s own facilities.

The event is expected to attract enthusiasts from across the region to show classic cars and bikes – classified as vehicles over 20 years of age for this event.

Members of the public are invited to visit for free, there is no entry fee, and there will be catering and toilet facilities on site.

Laura Shakespeare, head of curriculum for engineering at the college said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming visitors on campus again for this event, after a year of various stages of lockdown at the college.

“We wanted to host the car show and autojumble to help showcase the facilities we have at our Bridlington campus for motor vehicle and engineering.

“We have a fully equipped automotive engineering workshop, welding and fabrication, and specialist engineering facilities, including mechatronics.

“It takes over one whole wing of the St Mary’s Walk campus – we must be one of the best equipped colleges in the area for engineering and motor vehicle studies.”
