Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation’s welcome donation to Bridlington Macular Society Support Group
Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation has donated £1,025 to a Bridlington-based charity as part of its support for causes across the UK.
The Macular Society, a sight loss charity, received the donation after being nominated by colleagues at the society’s Bridlington branch for support.
The donation to the charity will be used by the group to purchase electronic tablets to use and learn specific software to provide skills that will improve the quality of their everyday life.
Jo Reader, regional manager for the Macular Society said: “We’re so grateful to the foundation for helping the group in this way.
“We very much look forward to helping our members get the most out of technology these iPads will provide – it will make such a difference to them, and help to prevent further isolation.”
Charlotte Dunn, customer consultant at Yorkshire Building Society in Bridlington, said: “We are proud to be able to support the Bridlington Macular Society Support Group in our community with a donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation.
“The work that they are doing to support their members is providing a real benefit to their lives through reducing their fears as they adapt to live with their condition and helping eliminate feelings of isolation in what are lonely times for people right now.”
