"Our customers' safety is our priority and we will be contacting everyone that visited the premises yesterday.

The person had only visited the pub Friday evening."

The pub announced that two deep cleans had been carried out, with help from the team at Squeeky Clean Scarborough, and they reopened yesterday afternoon.

Nicola Power, landlady at the pub, said: "This is the first time this has happened.

"It was a shock.

"I'd heard stories of test and trace taking ages so we took matters into our own hands and rang everyone on our list."
