Side Oven has recipe to beat lockdown blues

The Side Oven Bakery at Foston on the Wolds is offering help to people who have taken up making bread during the latest lockdown.

It has also has a range of flour, yeast, baking equipment and breadmaking kits for all ages to encourage people to have a go at making bread.

This year the Side Oven team has committed to reducing their single use plastic even further.

A big part of this pledge is the use of Beeswax wraps instead of using cling film.

It now stocks a wide range of Beeswax Wraps in their online shop from two small local companies ‘Bumble Wrap’ (York) and ‘Bee Natural’ (Driffield).

A spokesman said: “Baking at home has never been more popular.

“It’s good fun for adults and children alike, a great way to eat well, and who can resist the delicious smell of freshly baked bread or cake?
