The tourism organisation has launched a new Park&Win scheme to encourage people to shop local and aid the recovery of the high street.

The scheme offers shoppers the chance to win a raft of amazing prizes from major retailers such as B&Q and Boots as well as some of the best businesses in Bridlington such as the Promenades, Bridlington Golf Club and Manor Court Hotel.

Prize winners will be announced every week from Sunday,May 23 through to the end of September.

A spokesman said: “When parking in one of the designated car parks keep hold of your qualifying ticket, enter the code on the back, and you’ll be entered into the prize draw.

“Instead of letting old parking tickets gather dust on the dashboard, put them to good use and be in with the chance of winning prizes worth more than £1,000.

“Want to maximise your chances? You can also enter socially by following the link.

“Follow on Instagram, like on Facebook and share the competition with your family and friends, all through the Love Yorkshire Coast website at www.loveyorkshirecoast.co.uk/park-and-win.”

Kerry Carruthers, from Love Yorkshire Coast, part of the Yorkshire Coast BID said: “In accordance with the government’s roadmap and the reopening of non-essential retail we are dedicated in our efforts to encourage people to shop local and return to the high street.

“It’s been a difficult time for many during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially for local high street businesses, many of whom have been forced to close for long periods of time. We’re optimistic about the future and want to do everything we possibly can to help attract people to the coast and support our brilliant local businesses, which is why we will continue to launch schemes like Park&Win and hope it will be a huge success.”
