Hallmarks shop owner Mark retires after 35 golden years
A gem of a shop in Bridlington is set to close after more than 35 years.
Mark Hall, owner of Hallmarks The Jewellers which is based on Chapel Street, has decided to take the emotional decision to close the shop and retire.
Mr Hall opened Hallmarks on December 3, 1984 at the age of 21 and has been looking after visitors and loyal customers for more than three decades.
The popular shop will close its doors for the last time on Saturday, July 25.
Mr Hall said that since announcing he was to retire he has been overwhelmed by kind messages from residents and customers.
He also thanked his staff for their sterling service.
He said: “I would like to thank my amazing and loyal staff for their service over many years.
“They have said that Hallmarks was like one big happy family and not like work at all.
“We will all miss the many lovely customers who, over the years, have supported the shop and given us lots of very happy memories.
“Since announcing the shop closure many customers have been in to see us just to say how sad they are that the shop they valued and patronised for many years will no longer be there.
“All have commented on how they have always received such wonderful service. Thank you once again to everyone in Bridlington.”
